How we typically help
MySOLtalk Psychotherapy | Trauma-Informed Therapy for Adults 25+
Compassionate, trauma-informed psychotherapy for adults aged 25 and older. MySOLtalk Psychotherapy offers IFS-informed EMDR, EMDR Intensives, walk-and-talk therapy, narrative-informed therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support emotional healing, self-understanding, and meaningful change.
Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy for Adults
At MySOLtalk Psychotherapy, we recognize that your experiences shape how you understand yourself, navigate relationships, and respond to the world around you. Past trauma, difficult life experiences, and persistent emotional patterns can sometimes leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed.
Therapy offers an opportunity to explore these experiences in a supportive, collaborative environment where your story is respected and your individual needs guide the process.
We provide trauma-informed psychotherapy for adults aged 25 and older, integrating therapeutic approaches that support emotional regulation, trauma processing, personal growth, and a deeper connection with yourself.
Whether you are working through past experiences, navigating a life transition, or seeking new ways to understand yourself, MySOLtalk Psychotherapy offers a space to explore your concerns with curiosity, compassion, and care.
Our Psychotherapy Services
IFS-Informed EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy approach used to help people process distressing memories and experiences. When informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR can be complemented by a compassionate exploration of the different parts of yourself and the ways they may have adapted to difficult experiences.
IFS-informed EMDR therapy can support trauma processing, greater self-awareness, and a more compassionate relationship with your thoughts, emotions, and internal experiences. Treatment is tailored to your needs, with attention to readiness, emotional resources, and pacing.
EMDR Intensives
EMDR Intensives offer an extended, focused format for adults who wish to dedicate additional time to specific therapeutic goals. Rather than spreading the work across shorter weekly appointments, intensive sessions provide an opportunity for more sustained therapeutic exploration.
EMDR Intensives may be appropriate for individuals working through specific distressing experiences or seeking a more concentrated approach to trauma-focused therapy. Preparation, stabilization, and individualized treatment planning remain essential parts of the process.
Walk-and-Talk Therapy
Walk-and-talk therapy combines psychotherapy with gentle movement in an outdoor setting. For some adults, walking while talking can feel more natural or provide a helpful alternative to traditional office-based therapy.
Outdoor therapy may create opportunities for reflection, grounding, and a different perspective on the challenges you are navigating. Walk-and-talk sessions offer a way to engage in therapeutic conversations while connecting with your surroundings.
Narrative-Informed Therapy
Narrative-informed therapy explores how the stories we tell about ourselves and our experiences influence our identities, relationships, and sense of possibility.
Difficult experiences can shape beliefs about who we are and what we can expect from life. Narrative-informed psychotherapy helps you examine these stories, recognize your strengths, and consider alternative ways of understanding your experiences.
Your challenges are part of your story, but they do not have to define the whole of who you are.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) offers practical strategies for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, improving communication, and navigating relationships.
DBT-informed therapy can help you develop emotional regulation skills, increase awareness of your responses, and approach difficult situations with greater flexibility. These skills can support everyday functioning and help you respond to life's challenges in ways that align with your values and goals.
A Compassionate, Trauma-Informed Approach
At MySOLtalk Psychotherapy, therapy is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in respect for your experiences and autonomy.
A trauma-informed approach recognizes the potential impact of difficult experiences while emphasizing safety, trust, choice, and empowerment. We work at a pace that respects your needs and make space for both the challenges you carry and the strengths you bring.
Our goal is to support you in developing greater self-understanding, building emotional resources, and exploring new possibilities for change.
You do not need to know exactly where to begin. Therapy can start with wherever you are today.
